FAQs

Is this jacket suitable for riding a motorcycle?

No, while Belstaff is famous for motorcycling apparel, the Belhaven is a lifestyle fashion jacket and does not contain the protective armor or abrasion ratings required for motorcycle use.

How should I clean the jacket?

You should not attempt to machine wash or tumble dry the jacket. Professional leather cleaning is recommended to protect the integrity of the material.

Does the leather stretch over time?

Leather will naturally soften and mold slightly to your body shape with regular wear, but it will not stretch significantly.

What is the best way to store the jacket during summer?

Store in a breathable garment bag in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight to prevent fading or drying.

Can I wear this in the rain?

Light exposure to rain is generally fine if wiped dry immediately, but it is not waterproof and heavy rain may damage the leather finish.

Troubleshooting

Minor scuffs on the leather surface

Use a soft, dry cloth to gently buff the area, or consult a leather specialist if the scratch is deep.

Stiffness in the leather after storage

Wear the jacket for a short time to allow body heat to naturally soften the leather fibers.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure your jacket remains in top condition, follow these care guidelines:

  1. Professional Cleaning: Always use a professional leather cleaning service when the jacket requires deep maintenance.
  2. Storage: Hang the jacket on a wide, padded hanger to maintain the shape of the shoulders.
  3. Moisture Protection: If the leather becomes wet, allow it to dry naturally away from direct heat sources like radiators, which can cause cracking.
  4. Conditioning: Periodically apply a high-quality leather conditioner to keep the material supple and prevent it from drying out over time.
