Bartoline Teak Oil is a specialized wood treatment formulated for homeowners and woodworkers looking to restore the natural luster of garden furniture and interior matt-finished hardwoods. It excels at replenishing lost natural oils in dense woods like Oak and Teak, providing a durable, weather-resistant finish. While it offers superior protection for traditional wood pieces, users should note the required 24-hour drying time between coats and the specific safety precautions needed when handling oil-soaked rags to prevent spontaneous combustion.

While intended for hardwoods, it can be used on softwoods; however, the oil may soak in unevenly due to the density differences.
For best results, apply two to three coats, allowing 24 hours of drying time between each application.
No, this product is formulated for furniture maintenance and is not food-safe.
Use White Spirit for all brushes, cloths, and equipment used during the application.
Oily rags can self-ignite due to oxidation. Washing them with soap and water removes the oil, eliminating the fire hazard.
No, Bartoline Teak Oil is designed to provide a traditional matt finish, highlighting the natural look of the wood.
Too much oil was left on the surface. Use a clean cloth dampened with White Spirit to wipe away the excess.
The wood may still have a factory sealant or old paint residue. Sand the surface further to expose the raw wood grain.
Always clean brushes immediately using White Spirit. If hardened, soak the bristles in White Spirit for several hours.
Before starting your project, ensure you have adequate ventilation, as White Spirit and oil-based treatments emit fumes. Compatibility is limited to bare wood or wood previously treated with oil; you cannot apply this over existing paint or heavy stains without thorough sanding. For maintenance, simply re-apply a fresh coat once a year or whenever the wood appears dull or water no longer beads on the surface. Cleanup of brushes and rollers must be performed using White Spirit immediately after use. Most importantly, never leave oil-soaked cloths in a pile, as they can self-ignite; wash them thoroughly with soapy water before safe disposal.
