Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: To install the AB Tools Gudgeon Tailboard Hinge Pins, first determine the desired mounting location. Using the pin's base (84mm x 30mm) as a template, mark the positions for the 8mm holes. Drill the holes through the material you are attaching the pin to. Secure the pin using appropriate bolts, nuts, and washers (not included) that fit through the 8mm holes and are suitable for the load. Ensure the bolts are tightened firmly for a secure connection.
Compatibility: These pins are compatible with any application requiring a bolt-on hinge or pivot mechanism, including tailboards, truck beds, trailers, tippers, balers, and skips. The 8mm hole size is standard for many common fasteners. Ensure your material thickness can accommodate the bolts used.
Care: To maintain the longevity of the zinc coating and prevent rust, regularly clean the pins and surrounding hardware. Avoid using abrasive cleaners that could damage the plating. If the zinc coating shows signs of wear or damage, consider applying a rust-inhibiting lubricant or a suitable metal paint to protect the underlying mild steel from corrosion.
