Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Measure and Cut: Measure the required length and cut the uPVC trim using a fine-toothed saw or a sharp utility knife. Ensure cuts are clean and straight for a professional finish.
- Prepare Surface: Ensure the surface where the trim will be applied is clean, dry, and free from dust or grease.
- Apply Adhesive/Fixings: Apply a suitable strong adhesive designed for plastics and the substrate material (e.g., grab adhesive, silicone sealant) to the back of the trim or the surface. Alternatively, use small nails or screws specifically designed for uPVC, ensuring they are countersunk.
- Position and Secure: Press the trim firmly into place. For adhesives, allow adequate drying time as per the adhesive manufacturer's instructions. If using fixings, ensure they are evenly spaced.
Compatibility:
This trim is compatible with most common building materials including plasterboard, wood, brick, and existing uPVC surfaces. It is designed for use in both interior and exterior applications where a finishing edge is required.
Care:
Clean the trim with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the surface. For stubborn marks, a non-abrasive plastic cleaner can be used. The white uPVC is generally colorfast but prolonged direct sunlight may cause slight fading over extended periods.
