The Perry Gate Spring (517-PP0250ZP) is designed for homeowners and property managers who need a reliable, automatic self-closing mechanism for garden gates or exterior doors. Its primary benefit is providing hands-free security by ensuring gates return to a closed position after every passage, though it is important to note that the tension must be manually adjusted during installation to match the weight and swing speed of your specific gate.

This spring is generally designed for gates that open in one direction; it may not function correctly on dual-swing gates.
The product typically requires standard mounting screws appropriate for your specific gate material (wood, metal, etc.), which may need to be purchased separately depending on your installation surface.
The 250mm spring is intended for standard residential gates; for exceptionally heavy or large gates, multiple springs or a heavy-duty hydraulic closer may be required.
The tension is usually adjusted by rotating the spring cap or resetting the pin location; refer to the included instructions for the specific adjustment sequence.
While the finish is durable, painting the moving coils is not recommended as it may impact the mechanical performance and cause cracking.
Adjust the tension of the spring or check the gate hinges for obstruction or lack of lubrication.
Apply a high-quality outdoor-rated silicone lubricant to the spring coils and hinges.
Re-tighten the mounting hardware and increase the tension setting on the spring mechanism.
Installation involves securing the spring assembly to the gate post and the gate frame using appropriate hardware. Ensure that the spring is aligned to allow for a full range of motion. To maintain performance, periodically inspect the mounting screws to ensure they have not loosened due to vibration. During colder months, metal components may become stiffer; keeping hinges lubricated is recommended to ensure the spring does not have to work against excess friction. Avoid applying paint directly to the spring coils, as this may flake or hinder the flexibility of the mechanism.
