FAQs

Is assembly required for the Palissade Ottoman?

No, the Palissade Ottoman is typically delivered fully assembled and ready for immediate use.

What materials is the Palissade Ottoman made from?

It is constructed from durable steel, available in either a powder-coated finish or a galvanized steel finish.

Can the Palissade Ottoman be used indoors?

Yes, while designed for outdoor use, its elegant design also suits indoor spaces. However, consider its steel construction in terms of temperature and potential floor scratching.

How should I clean the ottoman?

Wipe the surface with a damp cloth. For tougher stains, use a mild soap and water solution, then rinse and dry.

What are the dimensions of the Palissade Ottoman?

The dimensions are approximately Width 65 cm x Depth 60 cm x Height 37 cm.

Does the ottoman come with cushions?

No, cushions are not included. The ottoman is designed for comfort without them, but optional cushions can be purchased separately if desired.

How does the galvanized steel finish differ from the powder-coated finishes?

Galvanized steel has a natural, matte silver finish that will develop a patina over time. Powder-coated finishes offer a smooth, colored surface in various shades.

Troubleshooting

Uneven sitting surface

Ensure the ottoman is placed on a level surface. The slatted design inherently has small gaps.

Surface scratches or minor damage

For powder-coated finishes, touch-up paint kits are available from the manufacturer. For galvanized finishes, minor scratches may patina over time.

Rust spots on galvanized finish

This is a natural part of the galvanization process. Light rust can be cleaned with a soft brush and mild cleaner. Significant rust may require a protective coating.

Ottoman feels unstable

Verify that all parts of the frame are securely seated on the ground. Ensure there are no obstructions or debris beneath the legs.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: The Palissade Ottoman typically requires no assembly upon arrival, functioning as a ready-to-use piece of furniture.

Compatibility: This ottoman is designed to complement the Palissade collection by HAY, particularly the low armchairs. It integrates well with various outdoor furniture styles due to its clean lines and neutral finishes.

Care:

Cleaning: Clean with a damp cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a mild soap solution and rinse thoroughly. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
Maintenance: For powder-coated finishes, wipe clean regularly. For the galvanized steel finish, natural patination will occur over time, adding character. Periodic checks for any signs of rust or damage are recommended.
Protection: While designed for outdoor use, consider covering or storing the ottoman during harsh winter months or prolonged periods of extreme weather to prolong its lifespan.
