FAQs

What is the voltage range for the Laserliner ActiveFinder XP?

The device detects non-contact alternating voltage (AC) in the range of 12V to 1000V at 50-60 Hz.

Can this voltage tester detect DC voltage?

No, the Laserliner ActiveFinder XP is designed exclusively for detecting AC voltage and cannot detect DC voltage.

How do I know if the device is working correctly?

When powered on, the device performs a self-test. You can test its functionality on a known live AC source within its detection range.

Is the device waterproof?

The device has a protection class of IP 67, meaning it is dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion in water.

What is included in the package?

The package includes the Laserliner ActiveFinder XP Voltage Tester, batteries, and a softbag for storage and transport.

How long do the batteries typically last?

Battery life depends on usage patterns, but the device is designed for efficient power consumption. It is recommended to replace batteries when the indicator suggests low power.

Can I use this tester to check for continuity?

No, this device is specifically for voltage detection and cable break detection, not for continuity testing.

Troubleshooting

Device does not power on

Check that the batteries are correctly inserted and have sufficient charge. Ensure the power button is pressed firmly.

No voltage detected on a known live wire

Verify the voltage is within the tester's AC range (12-1000V) and frequency (50-60Hz). Ensure the tester is held close enough to the conductor. Check battery level. Clean the sensor tip.

False voltage readings

Be aware of nearby strong electromagnetic fields which can cause interference. Ensure the device is not detecting induced voltage from parallel AC circuits.

Vibration alarm not working

Check battery level. Ensure the vibration function is enabled (refer to manual if applicable). Contact support if the issue persists.
