While many parts are dishwasher safe, hand washing is recommended to prolong the life of the non-skid base and silicone grip.
The stainless steel construction offers some heat retention, but it is not a vacuum-insulated thermal mug. Consume your coffee within an hour for the best temperature.
Yes, it works effectively for loose-leaf tea. The press functions similarly to keep leaves separated from the water.
A coarse grind is essential for French press brewing to ensure the filter works correctly and to prevent over-extraction.
The lid is designed to be spill-resistant during drinking, but it is not a fully sealed, leak-proof container intended for throwing in a bag.
Your coffee grounds may be too fine. Ensure you are using a coarse grind specifically for French press brewing.
Check that the filter mesh is fully tightened to the plunger rod. If it is loose, grounds will bypass the filter.
Verify that the silicone seal on the lid is clean and correctly seated. Ensure the screw mechanism is tightened securely before sipping.
Setup is straightforward: ensure the filter mesh is securely attached to the plunger stem before your first use. For daily care, disassemble the plunger and filter assembly after every use to rinse away residual coffee oils, which can become bitter over time. The stainless steel body should be hand-washed with mild soap to maintain the finish, while the silicone grip can be wiped down with a damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive sponges that might scratch the surface or damage the rubberized components.
