Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Setup:
- Clean the Surface: Ensure the area to be repaired is clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, or debris. A thorough cleaning will maximize adhesion.
- Cut to Size: Measure and cut the butyl tape to the required length using scissors or a utility knife.
- Peel Backing: Carefully peel off the protective backing film from the adhesive side.
- Apply Firmly: Position the tape over the damaged area and press down firmly, working from the center outwards to eliminate air bubbles and ensure complete contact.
Compatibility:
This tape is compatible with a wide range of surfaces including metal, galvanized steel, glass, plastic, concrete, EPDM roofing, corrugated and flat roofs, skylights, and vents.
Care:
While designed for durability, it is recommended to periodically inspect sealed areas. Clean the surrounding area gently with a damp cloth if it becomes dirty. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents directly on the tape.
