The RST Masons Small Tool Leaf & Square is designed for professional plasterers and masonry workers, as well as dedicated DIY enthusiasts, seeking precision and versatility in plaster repair, hole filling, and ornamental work. The leaf end is designed for working with curved surfaces, intricate patterns, and achieving smooth, flowing finishes, particularly useful in ornamental plasterwork or detailed repairs.
The tool measures approximately 16 x 230mm, with a blade width of 5/8 inch (approx. 16mm).
While it can be used for small drywall repairs, its primary design is for plaster and more specialized masonry applications. For large drywall jobs, wider trowels are typically more efficient.
It is recommended to apply a light coat of oil after cleaning and before storing the tool, especially if it will not be used for an extended period, to prevent rust.
Yes, the tool is engineered for durability and consistent performance, making it suitable for professional plasterers and masons.
The tool is manufactured from a single piece of carbon steel.
Clean the rusted area with a fine-grit abrasive pad or steel wool. Wash and dry the tool thoroughly, then apply a light coat of lubricating oil for protection. Ensure proper storage in a dry place.
Ensure the tool blade is clean and free of dried plaster. Check that the plaster mix consistency is appropriate for the task. The taper ground blade is designed for smoothness, so ensure no debris is impeding its function.
While designed for confined spaces, ensure you are utilizing the appropriate end (leaf or square) for the specific geometry of the area. The compact size should facilitate access.
Setup: This tool requires no specific setup; it is ready for use directly out of the packaging.
Compatibility: The RST Masons Small Tool is compatible with various plastering compounds and masonry repair materials. It is designed for manual application.
Care: To ensure longevity and prevent rust on the carbon steel blade, clean the tool thoroughly after each use. Wipe off all plaster or debris with a damp cloth, then dry completely. A light application of oil can further protect the steel during storage. Store in a dry environment.
