Setup, Compatibility & Care
Before beginning installation, always shut off the main water supply to prevent leaks or accidents. For torpedo-style bar valves, remove the grub screw on the valve body to release the old cartridge. For concealed valves, you must first remove the handle and any decorative trim. When installing the new cartridge, apply a light coat of silicone-based plumber's grease to the rubber O-rings; this ensures a smooth insertion into the valve body and prevents the seals from pinching or tearing. After installation, turn the water on slowly to check for leaks before fully testing the temperature controls.
