Each socket is modular and can be labelled. They are designed for networking purposes over distances up to 100m/328ft at speeds of 10GBps and follow the TIA/EIA-568-B UTP wiring layout. The IDC termination points fit a standard single back box, and fixing screws and accessories are supplied. No punch down tool is required for installation. This kit is ideal for feeding two rooms with faceplates from a central location. The network outlet faceplates are designed for cables run between rooms beneath floors and behind walls. Installation is made simple with IDC connectors that pierce the wire's insulation, and colour coding on the IDC terminals aids in wiring. To install, strip a short section of the outer cable insulation, follow the colour-coded labels on the push termination cap, and push the correct cores into each terminal. Once aligned, push the cap down to crimp the cores. For shielded cables, ensure the shield makes contact with the metal shell when closing the connector. We also stock CAT5e and CAT6 versions.
