The Calathea Rosy is an ideal houseplant for both novice and experienced indoor gardeners looking to add a pop of unique color to their home. Featuring distinctive light pink centers that transition to deep, dark green edges, this plant serves as both a beautiful aesthetic addition and a functional air-purifier that filters common household toxins. While it thrives in low-light environments and grows at a steady rate, it requires consistent moisture and humidity to prevent its sensitive foliage from browning or curling.

Calatheas are generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs, though it is always best to keep any houseplant out of reach of curious pets to prevent accidental ingestion.
No, the Calathea Rosy prefers low to medium indirect light. Direct sunlight can scorch the leaves and fade their unique coloring.
Water when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. It is best to keep the soil consistently moist but never soggy.
It is best to let the plant acclimate to your home environment for a few weeks before repotting it into a larger container.
Yes, like many foliage plants, the Calathea Rosy helps filter common household toxins and improve indoor air quality through its leaves.
At full maturity, the Calathea Rosy typically grows to around 70cm in height.
This is usually caused by low humidity. Try misting the leaves daily or placing the plant in a more humid room.
The plant may be receiving too much direct light. Move it to a more shaded position away from windows.
Check that the soil is not waterlogged. Ensure your decorative pot allows for proper drainage so roots do not sit in standing water.
Upon arrival, your Calathea Rosy is provided in an 11cm nursery pot. You can place this directly into a decorative cachepot of your choosing, provided it has proper drainage. For optimal health, keep the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged. Because this variety enjoys humidity, consider misting the leaves occasionally or placing the pot on a pebble tray with water to boost local moisture levels. Ensure the plant is kept away from cold drafts or direct heaters, as extreme temperature fluctuations can cause the leaf edges to brown. Fertilize sparingly during the active growing season in spring and summer to maintain its vigorous development.
