FAQs
Do I need to add separate rinse aid or salt when using these tablets?
Fairy Platinum tablets have built-in rinse aid and salt. However, if you live in a very hard water area, you may still benefit from adding extra dishwasher salt to your machine's salt compartment for optimal performance.
Can I use these tablets for a quick wash cycle?
While possible, these tablets are designed for optimal performance in normal or intensive cycles. Quick wash cycles may not provide enough time for the tablet to dissolve and activate fully, potentially leading to less effective cleaning.
How should I store the dishwasher tablets?
Store the tablets in their original packaging in a cool, dry place, ensuring the container remains tightly sealed to protect them from moisture and maintain their efficacy.
Are these tablets suitable for handwash or cleaning the dishwasher itself?
These tablets are specifically formulated for use in automatic dishwashers. They are not suitable for handwashing dishes or for use as a dishwasher cleaner, though they do help clean internal components like the filter during a wash cycle.
What does the 'Lemon' scent mean for my dishes?
The Lemon scent is a light fragrance added to the tablets that helps leave your dishes with a fresh, clean smell after the wash cycle. It is designed to be pleasant and not overpowering.
How many tablets should I use per wash?
Use one Fairy Platinum dishwasher tablet per wash cycle. Place it in the designated detergent compartment of your dishwasher.
Troubleshooting
Tablets not dissolving completely
Ensure the dispenser drawer is not blocked and that the tablet is placed correctly. Check that the dispenser compartment is dry before loading. Extreme cold can also affect dissolution; ensure the dishwasher is in a suitable environment.
White residue or spots on dishes
This is often due to hard water. While the tablets have built-in salt, in very hard water areas, you may still need to add dishwasher salt separately to the machine's salt reservoir. Also, ensure the rinse aid dispenser is topped up.
Dishwasher not cleaning effectively
Check for any blockages in the dishwasher's spray arms or filter. Ensure the dishwasher is not overloaded. Verify that you are using the correct dosage (one tablet per cycle).
Greasy film on dishes
Ensure the tablet is placed in the main wash compartment and not the pre-wash. Check that your dishwasher's water heating element is functioning correctly. A blocked filter or spray arms can also cause this.
