FAQs

Can I connect this to a metal downpipe?

No, the Harcostar Universal Rain Trap is designed specifically for plastic downpipes and is not compatible with cast iron or metal systems.

How high is the tap from the ground?

The tap is positioned 340mm above ground level, allowing space for most standard watering cans.

Why do the three barrels look like they have slightly different shades of color?

The barrels are made from recycled materials, and color variations between batches are a normal characteristic of the recycled manufacturing process.

Do I need a special base for the barrels?

While a specific base isn't required, you must install the barrels on a flat, even surface capable of supporting the significant weight of the filled tanks.

Is the lid secure?

Yes, each barrel is equipped with a spring-operated, child-safe lid to ensure safety in your garden.

Troubleshooting

Water is not flowing into the barrels.

Check the rain trap for blockages such as leaves or debris and ensure it is properly aligned with the downpipe.

The water butt is leaking at the connection point.

Ensure all seals and connectors are tightened properly and that the barrels are on a perfectly level surface to prevent strain on the joints.
