Product Information

Full details

The Mainline Super Natural Dark ground bait is an essential tool for anglers targeting mixed species in clear water environments. It provides a highly effective blend of sweet biscuits, seeds, and attractants that trigger fish into feeding while keeping them confident with its subtle, dark-colored carpet. While it is incredibly versatile for various tactics, users should note that the specialized dark composition requires careful adjustment of water ratios to achieve the desired consistency for specific fishing methods.

FAQs

Can I use this bait in cold water conditions?

Yes, its dark color is specifically advantageous in clear, cold water as it does not alert wary fish.

Is this ground bait suitable for Carp?

Yes, it is designed for a diverse range of fish including Carp, Bream, and Tench.

Does it contain real hemp?

Yes, it includes crushed hemp as part of its attractant blend.

How do I store the leftovers?

Simply seal the provided bag tightly and store in a cool, dry area.

Can I mix this with other baits?

Absolutely, it can be blended with other natural ingredients like corn, maggots, or pellets to tailor your approach.

What happens if the water is very muddy?

While it can still be used, the dark color is less beneficial in muddy water compared to clear, shallow water scenarios.

Troubleshooting

Bait is too sticky or clumpy

You have added too much water. Add a small amount of dry powder to the mix and work it through to restore the correct consistency.

Bait breaks down too fast in the feeder

Ensure the mix is slightly wetter and packed tighter into the feeder body to increase the time it takes to dissolve.

Bait is not active enough

Ensure the mix is kept on the drier side so that it disperses particles into the water column upon impact.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Ideal for clear water conditions where bright bait might spook fish
Versatile application for method feeders, balling, or loose feeding
Strong appetite-stimulating ingredients for varied species
Resealable packaging maintains product freshness
Creates a natural-looking feed carpet on the lake bed

Cons

Requires experimentation to get the perfect texture for specific feeders
Only available in a 1kg size format
Less effective in highly colored or murky water compared to lighter ground baits

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To prepare the bait, add small amounts of water at a time while mixing thoroughly to avoid over-wetting. If you accidentally make the mix too wet, add a small amount of dry bait to balance the consistency.

Compatibility is high across standard fishing methods, including:

Method Feeder: Packs well for slow, controlled release.
Pole Fishing: Can be cupped in or balled to hit the target area accurately.
Open-Ended Feeders: Ideal for introducing particles and attractants at distance.

For care, ensure the resealable bag is fully closed after every use. Keep the bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent the degradation of the sweet attractants and essential oils.
