Full details
The HiBREW H11 is an ideal entry-level espresso machine for home baristas looking to master manual brewing techniques and enjoy café-style beverages without a steep price tag. Its primary benefit is the combination of a professional 19-bar pressure pump and versatile steam functionality that allows for significant control over extraction and milk texturing. However, users should note that as a semi-automatic machine, it requires a learning curve regarding grind size and tamping technique to achieve optimal results.

FAQs
Can I use ESE coffee pods?
The H11 is primarily designed for ground coffee, but many standard ESE pods can be used if they fit correctly in the basket.
How do I activate cold brew mode?
Select the cold extraction mode on the control panel. Ensure the water tank has cool, fresh water before starting.
What is the capacity of the water tank?
The H11 features a 1.1L removable water tank, which is sufficient for several back-to-back shots.
Does this machine heat up cups?
Yes, there is a cup warming plate on the top of the machine. Place your cups there while the machine preheats.
How often should I descale?
We recommend descaling every 3 to 6 months depending on the hardness of your local water supply.
Troubleshooting
Espresso is too watery or sour
Your grind size is likely too coarse. Use a finer setting on your grinder to increase resistance.
No steam coming from the wand
Ensure the steam function is fully activated and the wand is not clogged with dried milk. Use a pin to clear the holes.
Coffee leaking from the portafilter
Check if the portafilter is properly locked in place or if the group head gasket needs cleaning from old grounds.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Before your first use, run at least two full reservoirs of water through the brew head and steam wand to clean the internal lines. Always use filtered water to prevent scale buildup, which is the most common cause of internal damage.
Maintenance Tips:
- After every use: Flush the group head and wipe down the steam wand immediately with a damp cloth to prevent milk crusting.
- Weekly: Remove the drip tray and wash it with warm soapy water.
- Monthly: Perform a deep descale cycle if you live in a hard water area to ensure the 1450W heating element functions efficiently.
- Compatibility: The machine is designed for use with standard ground espresso. Using oily or pre-ground coffee stored in a bag for too long may clog the basket.
