FAQs

What materials can this hole saw cut?

It is designed for multi-material use, including wood, metal, stainless steel, brick, soft tiles, and reinforced plastics.

How much deeper can it cut compared to standard hole saws?

This hole saw can cut neat holes up to 60 mm in depth.

What is the main advantage of Bosch Carbide Technology?

It integrates the hardest metal into the tooth structure, providing exceptional durability and a significantly longer lifespan, especially in tough materials.

Do I need a special arbor to use this hole saw?

Yes, it is designed to be used with the Bosch Power Change Plus keyless arbor for optimal accuracy, robustness, and ease of use.

How does the slot design help?

The special slot design improves visibility of the cutting area and aids in the removal of the cut material (plug).

How much longer does this hole saw last?

It can last up to 50 times longer than standard Bosch hole saws (e.g., Bosch 2608594581) in tough materials.

Is this suitable for professional trades?

Troubleshooting

Hole saw not cutting effectively

Ensure the hole saw is correctly mounted on the Power Change Plus arbor and that the arbor is securely in the drill chuck. Verify you are using the appropriate drill speed for the material being cut. Check for any damage to the carbide teeth.

Difficulty removing cut plug

Utilize the special slot design on the hole saw to aid plug ejection. Apply firm, steady pressure. If the plug is stuck, gently try to loosen it with a screwdriver through the slots.

Excessive vibration or wobble

Confirm the hole saw is properly seated and locked onto the arbor. Check that the arbor itself is securely fitted in the drill chuck and that the drill bit is not bent.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Exceptional durability and longevity, outperforming standard hole saws.
Cuts effectively through tough materials, including metal, without significant wear.
Precise and clean cuts due to finely ground carbide teeth.
Versatile for a wide range of materials, reducing the need for multiple specialized tools.
Efficient plug ejection system simplifies cleanup.

Cons

Requires the Bosch Power Change Plus arbor for optimal use.
Higher initial cost compared to standard hole saws.
May be overkill for very light-duty, single-material applications.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: For optimal performance and safety, ensure the hole saw is securely attached to the Bosch Power Change Plus arbor. Follow the arbor manufacturer's instructions for mounting and locking the hole saw. Ensure the arbor is correctly fitted into your drill's chuck.

Compatibility: This hole saw is specifically designed for use with the Bosch Power Change Plus keyless arbor. Using other arbors may compromise performance and safety.

Care: After use, remove any debris from the hole saw and its teeth. A wire brush can be used for stubborn residue. Store the hole saw in a dry place to prevent corrosion. Avoid dropping or subjecting the carbide teeth to impact, as this can cause damage.
