Product Information

Full details

The Summit Replacement Stick-On Mirror Glass is designed for Vauxhall Corsa D and E owners who need a cost-effective, quick fix for damaged or shattered driver-side mirrors to remain road-legal and safe. By utilizing a high-strength adhesive backing, this product allows for a simple, DIY-friendly installation directly over the existing mirror surface, though users should note that the original glass must be relatively flat and stable for a secure bond.

FAQs

Does this replace the whole mirror unit?

No, this is a replacement glass lens that sticks over your existing mirror backing plate.

Is this for the driver or passenger side?

The SRG-922 is specifically designed for the Right-Hand Side (driver's side in the UK).

Will this pass an MOT?

Yes, as long as the mirror is securely attached and provides a clear, accurate reflection, it meets the requirements for a road-legal vehicle.

Can I remove it if I make a mistake?

The adhesive is very strong and intended for permanent application; removal is difficult and may cause the mirror to shatter.

Does the adhesive work in freezing temperatures?

For best results, install in temperatures above 10°C. If installing in winter, warm the backing plate slightly with a hairdryer before application.

Troubleshooting

Mirror feels loose after installation

Ensure the original underlying glass was clean and free of dust before applying; if it remains loose, remove and apply a small amount of automotive-grade adhesive silicone.

Mirror glass does not sit flush

Check if there are any remaining large shards of the old mirror causing an uneven surface. Remove high spots before re-applying the new glass.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Significantly cheaper than replacing the entire mirror housing assembly
Installation can be completed in minutes without specialist tools
Restores MOT compliance immediately
High-quality, distortion-free reflection
Strong adhesive ensures long-term attachment

Cons

Not suitable if the original mirror housing is broken or significantly loose
Requires careful alignment during initial placement as the adhesive is very strong
Cannot be removed easily once bonded

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Compatibility

This mirror is strictly compatible with:

Vauxhall Corsa D (2006–2016) including facelift models (Right-Hand Side)
Vauxhall Corsa E (2014–2019) (Right-Hand Side)

Installation

Ensure the original broken glass is clean, dry, and free of loose debris.
Apply a generous amount of an appropriate adhesive activator or ensure the mounting surface is completely grease-free.
Carefully peel the backing off the adhesive strips on the Summit replacement glass.
Align the new mirror carefully over the existing surface.
Press firmly and evenly across the entire surface for 30–60 seconds to ensure a secure bond.

Care

Clean the mirror surface with a standard glass cleaner and a soft microfiber cloth to prevent scratching. Avoid using abrasive scrapers to remove ice during winter, as this can damage the surface coating.
