Setup
- Assembly: The composter comes with all necessary screws and instructions for self-assembly. Follow the instructions carefully to ensure a secure structure. Use all supplied screws to mitigate the effects of natural wood movement.
- Location: Choose a level area in your garden with good drainage. The location should be easily accessible for adding materials and turning the compost.
Compatibility
The composter is designed to handle a wide range of organic materials, including:
- Fruit and vegetable scraps
- Grass clippings
- Leaves
- Small twigs and branches
- Coffee grounds and tea bags
- Shredded paper
Avoid adding:
- Meat and dairy products
- Diseased plants
- Invasive weeds
Care
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the composter for any signs of damage or wear.
- Turning: Turn the compost pile regularly to promote aeration and decomposition.
- Moisture: Ensure the compost pile remains moist but not waterlogged.
- Wood Maintenance: While the wood is treated, you may want to apply additional wood preserver every few years to prolong the composter's life.
