FAQs
What is the main advantage of the ED lenses?
ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) lenses significantly reduce chromatic aberration, which results in sharper images with more accurate color rendition, especially noticeable in high-contrast areas like edges of objects.
How do I take photos or videos with my phone through the binoculars?
Attach the included digiscoping adapter to the binocular eyepiece, then clamp your smartphone onto the adapter, aligning its camera lens. Use the Bluetooth remote to capture images or videos without touching your phone.
Are these binoculars suitable for use in bad weather?
Yes, they are waterproof and anti-fog, designed to perform reliably in various weather conditions, including rain and high humidity.
What is the difference between the neck strap and the harness?
The neck strap is a simpler, lighter way to carry the binoculars. The comfort harness distributes the weight across your shoulders and back, providing greater comfort during long periods of use or extensive travel.
Can I use these binoculars with eyeglasses?
Yes, you can typically use them with eyeglasses. Adjust the interpupillary distance and then use the diopter adjustment on one eyepiece to fine-tune focus for your individual vision.
What is included in the bundle?
The bundle includes the Vanguard VEO ED 8x42 binoculars, a digiscoping adapter with Bluetooth remote, a comfort harness, a neck strap, a carry bag, and cleaning tissue.
How do I clean the lenses properly?
Use the provided cleaning tissue or a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth. For stubborn smudges, apply a drop of specialized lens cleaning fluid to the cloth, not directly to the lens, and wipe gently.
Troubleshooting
Image is blurry or not in focus
Ensure the central focus wheel is adjusted correctly. If viewing with glasses, try using the binoculars without them if possible, or adjust the diopter setting to match your eyesight.
Smartphone camera does not align with the eyepiece
Loosen the smartphone clamp on the digiscope adapter and carefully reposition your phone so the camera lens is directly centered over the binocular eyepiece. Tighten the clamp gently.
Bluetooth remote is not connecting
Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone. Make sure the remote's battery is charged or replaced. Try re-pairing the remote with your phone by turning both devices off and on again.
Water ingress or fogging inside the binoculars
While waterproof, avoid submerging the binoculars. If fogging occurs, allow them to air dry in a warm, non-humid environment. Contact customer support if the issue persists.
Harness or strap feels uncomfortable
Adjust the straps on both the neck strap and the comfort harness for a better fit. Ensure the weight is distributed evenly across your shoulders and back.
