Product Information

Full details

The BIBS Colour Soothers in the Deep Space Mix are designed for parents seeking a classic, reliable pacifier that closely mimics the breastfeeding experience for infants. Featuring a signature round shield and natural rubber latex nipple, these size 2 soothers offer a soothing sensation that promotes comfort and calm. While they are highly effective for most babies, it is important to note that the natural rubber material requires more frequent replacement than silicone alternatives and should be inspected regularly for signs of wear.

FAQs

How often should I replace BIBS pacifiers?

Due to the natural rubber material, we recommend replacing these pacifiers every 4 to 6 weeks for safety and hygiene.

Are these pacifiers BPA-free?

Yes, all BIBS pacifiers are 100% free from BPA, PVC, and phthalates.

Can I use these for a newborn?

This specific variant is Size 2, which is typically sized for babies aged 6-18 months. Newborns usually require Size 1.

Does natural rubber contain latex?

Yes, the nipple is made of 100% natural rubber latex, so they should not be used by babies with a known latex allergy.

Why is the nipple round?

The round shape mimics the size and shape of a mother's breast, encouraging the same tongue position and suckling technique as breastfeeding.

How do I store them properly?

Store in a clean, closed container away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture to prolong the life of the rubber.

Troubleshooting

Water trapped inside the nipple after cleaning

Gently squeeze the nipple to push out excess water through the ventilation hole after sterilization.

Nipple looks darker or appears worn

This is a natural process of aging for natural rubber; it is time to replace the pacifier with a new one.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Mimics the shape of a mother's breast to support natural suckling
Lightweight shield reduces pressure on baby's face
Natural rubber construction is free from harmful chemicals
Ventilation holes prevent moisture buildup on skin

Cons

Natural rubber needs to be replaced every 4 to 6 weeks for hygiene
Not suitable for babies with a diagnosed latex allergy
Requires more thorough sterilization care compared to silicone

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Before the first use, always sterilize the pacifier by placing it in boiling water for five minutes. Allow it to cool and squeeze any remaining water out of the nipple to ensure hygiene. For ongoing care, the pacifier should be cleaned daily using hot water. Avoid using the dishwasher or microwave steam cleaners, as these can damage the natural rubber material. Inspect the nipple before every use by pulling it in all directions; if you notice cracks, holes, or sticky texture, discard it immediately. Keep the pacifiers stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, as UV rays can degrade natural rubber prematurely.
