Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Prepare the soil by removing weeds and loosening the top layer to a fine tilth.
- Shake the contents of the pack to ensure an even distribution of seeds and granules.
- Scatter the mix evenly over the prepared area (covers approximately 18m²).
- Lightly rake the area to lightly cover the seeds, or simply press them into the soil surface.
- Water gently but thoroughly.
Compatibility:
This mix is suitable for most garden soils in sunny to partially shaded locations. It is compatible with natural habitats and can be integrated into traditional garden beds, borders, or used to create a dedicated wildflower patch.
Care:
- Watering: Water regularly during dry spells, especially in the first year, to help establish the plants.
- Weeding: Initially, remove any vigorous weeds that may compete with the young wildflowers. Once established, wildflowers are often hardy enough to suppress most weeds.
- Mowing: Allow the flowers to bloom and set seed. In late autumn or early winter, cut back the dead flower stems to encourage new growth for the following year. This can also help with seed dispersal.
