Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Identify the carburettor or throttle body type and measure the centre-to-centre distance of the mounting studs or bolt holes.
- Using the application table (if available) or by measuring your specific setup, determine if a direct fit is possible or if custom cutting is required.
- If custom cutting is needed, carefully mark the required shape onto the blank baseplate. Ensure the cutouts will align with your carburettor/throttle body mounting points and allow for the PX600 filter to seal correctly.
- Use appropriate tools (e.g., jigsaw, metal snips, rotary tool) to cut the baseplate to the marked shape. File any rough edges smooth.
- Mount the prepared baseplate onto the carburettor or throttle body, securing it with appropriate fasteners (not included).
- Attach the Pipercross PX600 filter to the baseplate as per the filter's instructions.
Compatibility:
This baseplate is designed to fit a wide range of carburettors and throttle bodies, including but not limited to Weber DCOE and Dellorto DHLA types. It is crucial to verify the 'centres' measurement of your specific carburettor or throttle body against the dimensions provided by Pipercross or by comparing with known compatible applications. The universal blank plate offers the potential for fitment on custom or one-off applications if the user can adapt it to their specific needs.
Care:
Maintain the baseplate by periodically checking for any signs of damage or wear. Ensure it remains securely fastened. The primary care will be for the attached Pipercross air filter, which should be cleaned and re-oiled according to Pipercross's recommended maintenance schedule for their PX600 filters to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
