The Carbeth Plants Crocus Romance bulbs are ideal for gardeners seeking to add early-season vibrancy to their UK landscape. These hardy, early-flowering perennials offer a reliable burst of creamy yellow flowers between February and March, providing a vital nectar source for bees and butterflies. While they are celebrated for their rapid naturalization and ease of growth, users should note that they require specific planting timing to ensure a successful bloom cycle during the late winter period.

These bulbs should be planted in the autumn, ideally before the first hard frost, to allow roots to establish before spring.
Yes, they are excellent for patio pots, provided the container has good drainage holes and high-quality potting compost.
A general rule of thumb is to plant them at a depth of about three times the height of the bulb.
No, as a hardy perennial, they are designed to stay in the ground and will naturalize over time.
Yes, Crocus Romance is fully hardy and capable of surviving typical UK winter conditions while in the ground.
Ensure they were planted at the correct depth and that the soil is not overly compacted or waterlogged.
This often indicates poor drainage or a lack of sunlight during the early spring growth phase.
Verify storage conditions are dry, cool, and well-ventilated; remove any bulbs showing soft spots immediately.
For optimal results, plant these bulbs in a sunny or partially shaded spot with well-draining soil. Bury the bulbs roughly three times their own depth with the pointed end facing upward. If you cannot plant the bulbs immediately upon delivery, store them in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area that remains frost-free. This ensures they remain dormant until they are ready to be placed in the ground. During the growing season, avoid over-watering, as bulb rot can occur in stagnant, waterlogged soil.
