Waste couplings are used to join together two lengths of pipe using solvent cement for a permanent and strong installation. This fitting is available in 32mm, 40mm and 50mm size options. The solvent weld waste is manufactured in the UK to BS EN 1455 and is kitemarked. To make a solvent weld joint, ensure surfaces are clean, apply SC250 solvent cement to both, push the pipe fully into the fitting and twist for full contact. Clean off excess solvent and leave for 5 minutes to set, with the installation set for 12 hours before testing. Solvent weld joints are permanent. Always work in a well-ventilated area when using solvent cement, keeping it away from heat sources or naked flames. Avoid skin contact; if it occurs, wash thoroughly with soap and water. This product is made to be installed with 43mm (1 1/2 inch solvent weld) pipe or fittings. If your pipe or existing fittings measure 40mm, or has PP printed on it, this product is not compatible; 40mm pushfit or compression fittings will be required.
