Setup, Compatibility & Care
Compatibility:
This engine oil is designed for use in a wide range of cars and commercial vehicles. Always consult your vehicle's owner's manual to confirm that the 15W-40 viscosity and the specified industry standards (ACEA A3/B3/B4, API CI-4/SL) and manufacturer approvals (MB 229.1, VW 501 01/505 00, MAN 3275) are suitable for your specific engine. The part number `32925` can be used to cross-reference compatibility.
Setup (Oil Change):
- Ensure the engine is at operating temperature (warm, but not hot).
- Safely lift and support the vehicle if necessary.
- Locate and remove the oil drain plug, allowing the old oil to drain completely into a suitable container.
- Replace the oil drain plug, ensuring it is tightened correctly.
- Locate and remove the oil filter.
- Lubricate the rubber seal of the new oil filter with a thin film of new engine oil.
- Install the new oil filter, hand-tightening it according to the manufacturer's instructions (typically 3/4 to 1 full turn after the seal makes contact).
- Open the hood and remove the oil filler cap.
- Using a funnel, add the specified amount of Febi Bilstein Engine Oil (check your owner's manual for capacity). Start with slightly less than the full capacity.
- Replace the oil filler cap.
- Start the engine and let it run for a minute, checking for leaks around the drain plug and filter.
- Turn off the engine and wait 5-10 minutes for the oil to settle.
- Check the oil level using the dipstick and top up as necessary to reach the 'MAX' mark.
Care:
- Store the oil container in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Keep the container sealed when not in use to prevent contamination.
- Dispose of used engine oil responsibly at an authorized collection point. Do not pour it down drains or onto the ground.
