FAQs

Does this drive work with smartphones?

Yes, as long as your smartphone supports USB OTG (On-The-Go) and has a USB-C port.

Can I use both USB-A and USB-C at the same time?

No, the drive features a single-channel sliding mechanism that allows you to expose either the USB-A or the USB-C connector, but not both simultaneously.

What file system is the drive pre-formatted with?

The drive typically comes formatted in exFAT, which provides compatibility with both Windows and macOS systems.

Is the zinc alloy shell waterproof?

The casing is robust, but it is not rated for water submersion; keep the drive dry to avoid internal electrical damage.

Can this drive be used for bootable OS installations?

Yes, its high-speed performance makes it an excellent choice for running live operating systems or portable applications.

Troubleshooting

Drive not recognized by computer

Ensure the sliding mechanism has clicked into the fully extended position and try a different USB port on your machine.

Slow transfer speeds

Verify that you are using a USB 3.2 Gen 2 compatible port; older ports will significantly throttle performance.

Drive disconnects during operation

Avoid using unpowered USB hubs, which may not provide sufficient voltage for high-performance flash drives.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Extremely fast data transfer speeds for 4K video and large datasets
Versatile dual USB-A and USB-C connectivity
Durable zinc alloy casing ensures longevity
Compact form factor with integrated keychain hole
Sliding mechanism protects connectors from debris

Cons

Speeds are significantly reduced if plugged into older USB 2.0 or 3.0 ports
May become warm during prolonged heavy write operations
Sliding mechanism requires manual adjustment to expose the desired port

Setup, Compatibility & Care

This drive is natively plug-and-play on Windows, macOS, Android, and compatible gaming consoles. To achieve maximum performance, ensure the device is plugged into a port labeled 'SS' or '10Gbps'. To care for the unit, avoid dropping the drive on hard surfaces despite its metal casing. When storing, keep the port in the retracted position using the slider to prevent dust from entering the pins. If the drive becomes warm during a large transfer, simply allow it to rest for a few minutes before disconnecting.
