Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Installation of the Samsung Induction Hob (NZ64B6056GK) requires professional hard-wired electrical connection. This is not a plug-and-play appliance. Ensure your kitchen has the appropriate electrical supply and a qualified electrician performs the installation. The hob's Slim Fit design allows for more usable space underneath, but its dimensions of 48 x 590 x 520 mm (HxWxD) should be carefully considered to ensure it fits your countertop cut-out.
Compatibility
- Cookware: Only ferromagnetic (induction-compatible) cookware will work with this hob. This means pots and pans with a magnetic base. You can test your current cookware by holding a magnet to the bottom – if it sticks, it's compatible. Cast iron, magnetic stainless steel, and some enameled steel are typically suitable.
- Smart Features: To utilize Wi-Fi Connectivity and SmartThings Cooking, you will need a smartphone or tablet and a stable home Wi-Fi network. Download the Samsung SmartThings app and follow the in-app instructions to pair your hob.
Care
- Cleaning: Always allow the hob to cool down completely before cleaning. Use a soft, damp cloth with a mild detergent to wipe down the glass surface. For stubborn spills or burnt-on food, use a ceramic hob scraper specifically designed for glass surfaces. Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals as they can scratch or damage the surface.
- Maintenance: Regularly check the ventilation slots around the hob to ensure they are free from obstructions. This helps maintain optimal performance and prolongs the appliance's lifespan. No specific user maintenance beyond cleaning is typically required.
