Setup, Compatibility & Care
- Preparation: Clean the surface thoroughly, ensuring it's free from dust and grease. A clean surface is crucial for optimal adhesion.
- Cutting: Measure and cut the vinyl to the required size, using the grid on the backing paper as a guide. The application kit includes a cutting tool to prevent damage during smoothing.
- Application: Peel a small section of the backing paper and apply the vinyl, smoothing out any bubbles with a smoother.
- Overlapping: For worktops, overlap the vinyl by a few millimeters to account for shrinkage.
- Curved Surfaces: Use a hairdryer to make the vinyl more pliable for curved surfaces.
- Sealing: Seal edges around sinks and hobs with silicone sealant for water resistance.
Compatibility: D C Fix vinyl is compatible with various surfaces, including worktops, furniture, and doors. For difficult surfaces like glass or appliances, lightly spraying water can aid maneuverability.
Care: Clean the vinyl with regular household cleaners. Avoid scrubbing and promptly wipe up spillages like curry to prevent staining. Avoid cutting or moving sharp objects directly on the vinyl; use worktop savers.
