Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Select Location: Choose a suitable display area, such as a wall, fence, gate, or door.
- Mark Holes: Position the sign and mark the locations of the two pre-drilled screw holes.
- Install Mounts: Use appropriate screws or mounting hardware (not included) suitable for the surface material (wood, metal, masonry).
- Secure Sign: Attach the sign firmly to the mounting hardware.
Compatibility:
This sign is compatible with most flat surfaces where screws or appropriate fasteners can be installed. It is designed for decorative purposes and does not have any electronic or mechanical compatibility requirements.
Care:
- Cleaning: Wipe the sign with a dry or slightly damp cloth to remove dust. Avoid abrasive cleaners or excessive moisture, especially on the painted and logo areas, to preserve the antique finish.
- Maintenance: Periodically check the mounting screws to ensure the sign remains securely fastened.
- Rust/Weathering: The cast iron may naturally develop a patina over time if exposed to humidity. This is characteristic of cast iron and can add to its vintage appeal. For exterior use, consider applying a clear coat sealant if you wish to minimize further weathering.
