Product Information

Full details

The Outsunny Cat Repellent is designed for homeowners and garden enthusiasts seeking a humane solution to keep unwanted animals like cats, dogs, and rodents out of their yards. Its key benefit is providing continuous, automatic pest deterrence using ultrasonic waves and motion detection, allowing you to enjoy your outdoor spaces without constant worry. A potential caveat is its reliance on solar power, which may be less effective in prolonged periods of low sunlight. This device features dual power sources, a wide-angle motion sensor, and durable, weather-resistant construction.

FAQs

How long does the battery last on a full charge?

The unit is powered by four AA Ni-MH rechargeable batteries. With sufficient sunlight, it can operate day and night. Battery life depends on sunlight exposure and frequency of activation.

Is the ultrasonic sound harmful to humans or pets?

The ultrasonic frequencies are designed to deter animals and are generally considered inaudible and harmless to humans. However, prolonged exposure at close range might be perceived by some sensitive pets, so strategic placement is recommended.

What is the IPX4 waterproof rating?

The IPX4 rating means the device is protected against splashing water from any direction, making it suitable for use in light rain and typical garden environments. It is not designed to be submerged.

What animals does this repellent primarily target?

It is designed to deter common garden pests such as cats, dogs, rats, squirrels, and moles. Its effectiveness may vary depending on the animal.

How often should I clean the solar panel?

It is recommended to clean the solar panel periodically, especially if it appears dusty or dirty, using a soft, damp cloth. This ensures optimal charging efficiency.

Can I turn off the ultrasonic sound and just use the motion sensor?

This model is designed to activate the ultrasonic deterrent when motion is detected. There is no option to disable the ultrasonic function while keeping the motion sensor active.

What is the warranty period for this product?

The Outsunny Cat Repellent comes with a 12-month guarantee.

Troubleshooting

Device not activating

Ensure the PIR motion sensor is clean and unobstructed. Check that the unit is receiving sufficient sunlight for charging, or verify the rechargeable batteries are correctly installed and charged.

Reduced effectiveness

Clean the solar panel to maximize charging efficiency. Ensure the unit is positioned correctly within its detection range and angle. Consider repositioning the device to a location where motion is more likely to be detected.

Unit not charging

Wipe the solar panel clean with a damp cloth. Ensure the panel is facing direct sunlight and is not covered by leaves or other obstructions. Check the rechargeable batteries for any signs of damage or wear.

Animal appears unfazed

Effectiveness can vary. Try repositioning the device or adjusting its angle. Ensure the ultrasonic waves are not being blocked by dense foliage or structures. Note that some animals may become accustomed to the sound over time.
