FAQs
Is this ball suitable for heavy chewers?
No, this is designed as an interactive fetch toy. It is not intended for unsupervised chewing or as a durable chew toy for aggressive chewers.
Can I wash the Sportspet Rugby Ball in the washing machine?
We recommend hand cleaning only with a damp cloth to preserve the structural integrity of the handcrafted materials.
What is the size of the Midi version?
The Midi size is specifically engineered to be comfortable for medium-sized breeds to carry and retrieve.
Is the ball safe for my dog's teeth?
The construction uses soft but durable materials suitable for standard play; however, always monitor your pet to ensure they aren't aggressively gnawing on the fabric.
How do I play effectively with the cotton grips?
The cotton grips are designed to make it easy for the dog to pick up the ball from the ground and for you to handle the toy easily after a retrieval.
Troubleshooting
The ball has become heavily soiled after outdoor play.
Wipe the surface with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Allow to air dry naturally away from direct heat sources.
My dog is starting to tear the cotton grips.
Cease play immediately if the toy shows signs of damage to prevent ingestion of materials. This indicates the dog is using the toy for chewing rather than fetching.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Durable construction based on professional ball manufacturing
- Easy for dogs to carry due to the cotton grip design
- Encourages active physical exercise for your pet
- Unique design stands out from standard rubber balls
Cons
- Not suitable as a long-term chew toy
- Cotton components may hold moisture if left outside
- Should be used under supervision to prevent damage
Setup, Compatibility & Care
There is no complex setup required; the ball is ready for use right out of the packaging. To maintain the life of the product, keep it in a cool, dry place when not in use. If the ball becomes muddy, spot clean the surface with a damp cloth and mild soap, then allow it to air dry completely. Avoid leaving the ball submerged in water or lying in damp grass for extended periods, as this can degrade the integrity of the cotton grips and internal materials.
