Setup, Compatibility & Care
Installation of the BBA5087 requires removing the alternator from the vehicle in most cases. You must use a dedicated alternator pulley tool kit (typically involving a multi-spline socket) to hold the shaft still while unscrewing the old pulley and tightening the new one to manufacturer-specified torque settings.
Compatibility Note: Before purchasing, cross-reference your vehicle's specific engine code and existing OEM part number. This unit features a 17 mm inner diameter; ensure this matches your alternator shaft diameter exactly to prevent mechanical failure. Periodically inspect the belt path and tensioner during standard oil changes to ensure the pulley rotates freely in one direction and locks in the other.
