Setup, Compatibility & Care
Getting the most out of your MAC Studio Radiance Serum Powered Foundation starts with proper preparation and understanding its care requirements.
Before First Use
- Shake Well: Always shake the bottle gently before each use to ensure the serum and pigment are thoroughly mixed for consistent application.
- Patch Test (Optional but Recommended): If you have sensitive skin, apply a small amount to an inconspicuous area (like behind your ear or inner forearm) and wait 24 hours to check for any adverse reactions.
Skin Preparation for Optimal Results
- Cleanse: Start with a clean face. Use your regular gentle cleanser to remove any impurities.
- Moisturize: Apply a hydrating moisturizer suitable for your skin type. Allow it to fully absorb for a few minutes before applying foundation.
- Prime: For extended wear and an even canvas, consider using a face primer. A hydrating or radiance-boosting primer can complement the foundation's finish, while a mattifying primer can help control oil in specific areas.
Compatibility
This foundation is generally suitable for most skin types. Its serum-powered formula provides hydration, making it a good choice for normal to dry skin. For oily or combination skin, using a mattifying primer in oily zones and a light dusting of setting powder can help manage shine throughout the day while still enjoying the radiant finish.
Product Care
- Storage: Store the foundation bottle upright in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures. This helps maintain the integrity of the formula.
- Avoid Contamination: To prevent bacterial growth, avoid direct contact of the applicator or your fingers with the product inside the bottle. Dispense onto a clean surface (like the back of your hand or a palette) or use a clean tool.
- Cleaning Tools: Regularly clean your foundation brushes and sponges with a gentle brush cleanser or mild soap and water. Clean tools ensure smooth application and prevent product buildup and bacterial transfer to your skin.
