Full details
The Vass Hybrid 700 Dark Camo Edition Chest Waders are engineered for dedicated anglers who demand both durability in rugged terrain and mobility during active fishing sessions. By blending a heavy-duty Vass-Tex 700 lower section with a flexible 350 upper, these waders provide excellent protection and comfort; however, users should note that the non-breathable nature of the heavy-duty lower section may lead to increased warmth during intensive summer activity.

FAQs
Are these waders breathable?
The Vass Hybrid 700 series uses a durable, waterproof fabric construction that is highly effective at keeping water out, but it is not a breathable membrane.
Can I use these for winter fishing?
Yes, they are suitable for winter use. Because the fit is generous, you can easily layer thermal leggings and thick socks underneath for added warmth.
How should I clean the exterior?
Use fresh water and a soft brush to remove dirt. Do not use strong detergents or solvents, as these can compromise the waterproof finish.
Does the camo finish fade over time?
While highly durable, the VRLR finish is designed to last the life of the wader. Keep them out of direct, prolonged sunlight when not in use to maintain the color.
Are the boots steel-toe capped?
No, the Vass E-Boots provided with the Hybrid 700 are designed for comfort, flexibility, and grip rather than heavy industrial safety protection.
What happens if I snag the material?
Minor snags can often be repaired using a dedicated high-grade wader repair kit or PVC adhesive patch designed for heavy-duty aquatic gear.
Troubleshooting
Water ingress around the boot area
Check the connection point between the boot and the fabric for debris; if a leak is identified in the seam, use a dedicated PVC or wader repair adhesive.
Buckle failure
Ensure the quick-release mechanism is free from grit or sand by rinsing with fresh water; if damaged, standard replacement quick-release buckles are often compatible.
Stiff straps or fabric
If the waders have been stored in cold conditions, allow them to reach room temperature before putting them on to prevent premature stress on the material.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Exceptional durability in the lower leg and foot area
- Improved stealth capabilities due to the VRLR camo finish
- High-grip E-Boots provide stability on wet or muddy banks
- Flexible upper material allows for easier casting and movement
- Secure waterproof external storage pocket
Cons
- Lower section is not breathable, which may cause sweat buildup
- Dark camo pattern is specifically designed for concealment rather than high visibility
- Fixed boot design means sizing is specific to the chosen EU/UK boot size
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To achieve the best fit, ensure you select your correct EU shoe size as the E-Boot is integrated directly into the construction.
- Fitting: Adjust the yellow elasticated straps to your torso height, ensuring the waders are high enough to prevent water ingress but loose enough to allow full articulation of your hips.
- Care: After every trip, rinse the exterior with clean fresh water to remove mud and silt, paying extra attention to the treads of the E-Boots.
- Storage: Always store the waders in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid folding them sharply at the seams; hanging them by the straps using a dedicated wader hanger is recommended to maintain the integrity of the welded joints.
- Drying: Allow to air dry naturally. Do not expose to heat sources like radiators, as this can degrade the waterproof coatings and seals.
