Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and smooth. Remove any dust, grease, or old adhesive.
- Measure and cut the vinyl using the grid on the reverse, allowing a slight overlap for trimming.
- Peel back a small section of the backing paper.
- Carefully position the vinyl onto the surface and begin to smooth it down, gradually peeling the backing paper as you go.
- Use a squeegee or a credit card to smooth out any air bubbles and ensure good adhesion.
- For curved edges, gently warm the vinyl with a hairdryer to make it more pliable, then press into place.
Compatibility:
The vinyl can be applied to any flat, smooth surface including wood, metal, glass, and previously painted surfaces. It is not recommended for use on textured, rough, or overly porous materials.
Care:
- Wipe clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent if necessary.
- Wipe up spills immediately to prevent staining.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- For areas near sinks or hobs, apply a suitable sealant around the edges to prevent water or heat from lifting the vinyl.
- The vinyl is heat resistant up to 70°C, but not suitable for direct contact with hot pans.
