Troubleshooting

Helmet feels loose even when dial is tightened

Ensure the internal padding is correctly seated and that the straps are adjusted to hold the helmet firmly against the scalp.

Buckle is difficult to snap together

Check the magnetic plates for debris or dried mud, as the magnetic connection requires a clean surface to lock properly.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Fidlock magnetic buckle is easy for small hands to operate
  • Extended rear coverage offers better protection than standard helmets
  • Moisture-wicking pads are soft and easy to clean
  • Highly adjustable fit system grows with the child

Cons

  • Limited head size range of 50-55 cm may be outgrown quickly
  • Bright orange color can be prone to showing scuffs and dirt
  • Lacks an integrated visor for sun protection

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To achieve the best fit, first loosen the rear adjustment dial fully. Place the helmet on the child's head so that it rests level on the forehead, roughly two finger-widths above the eyebrows. Tighten the rear dial until the helmet is snug but not uncomfortable. Adjust the side strap sliders so they form a 'Y' shape just below the ears. Finally, snap the magnetic buckle shut and adjust the chin strap until there is just enough room for one or two fingers between the strap and the chin. To care for the helmet, hand wash the pads in mild soap and water, and wipe the outer shell with a damp cloth. Never use harsh chemicals or solvents, as these can compromise the integrity of the EPS foam.
