Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: This set requires no assembly. The files are ready for immediate use upon removal from their packaging.
Compatibility: These files are suitable for use on a wide range of materials including metal, wood, plastic, and softer stones. Ensure the file type is appropriate for the material being worked on to avoid damage to the file or workpiece.
Care:
- Cleaning: After each use, clean the files to remove debris. A stiff brush or compressed air is effective for removing metal filings or wood dust. For stubborn residue, a solvent like mineral spirits can be used sparingly, followed by thorough drying.
- Storage: Store the files in a dry place, preferably in their original packaging or a dedicated tool roll, to prevent rust and protect the teeth from damage. Avoid storing them loose with other metal tools where they can scratch or get damaged.
- Handling: Always use the files with the soft-grip handles. Avoid applying excessive force or using them for tasks they are not designed for, such as prying or heavy chopping.
