Setup, Compatibility & Care
To get the best results, ensure your paint is thinned slightly if necessary, but keep it largely un-thinned for traditional drybrushing. Use a clean paper towel to remove excess pigment before touching the brush to your model.
Care instructions are vital to extending the lifespan of the brush. Because drybrushing often involves working with paint that dries quickly, avoid getting paint up into the ferrule (the metal part holding the bristles), as this will cause the brush to splay and lose its shape. After each session, wash the brush thoroughly with lukewarm water and a gentle brush soap. Reshape the bristles with your fingers while they are damp and store the brush flat or hanging bristles-down to prevent moisture from damaging the wooden handle.
