Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: Before first use, wash the cocotte in warm, soapy water and dry thoroughly. While the enamel is non-stick in nature, lightly oiling the interior before the first few uses can help condition the surface.
Compatibility: This cocotte is safe for all cooktops including gas, electric, glass-ceramic, and induction. It is also oven-safe at high temperatures, though you should avoid dropping it onto ceramic surfaces due to its weight.
Care: Always allow the pot to cool down naturally before rinsing; sudden temperature changes (thermal shock) can crack the enamel. Avoid using metal utensils which may scratch the surface, opting for silicone or wood instead. Hand-wash with mild detergent and a non-abrasive sponge. To remove stubborn stains, soak with warm water and baking soda, then scrub gently.
