The Mirka Dry Guide Coat Powder is an essential tool for professional body shop technicians and automotive refinishers who require absolute precision during the sanding process. By highlighting surface imperfections like low spots, pinholes, and deep scratches, this powder ensures a uniform finish before applying topcoats; however, users should note that the fine powder requires careful handling to prevent unwanted dust accumulation in the immediate workspace.

No, you do not wipe it off. The sanding process itself will remove the guide coat as you level the surface.
It is intended for use on primer and body fillers. It is not recommended for use on finished basecoats or clear coats.
It produces a fine powder dust. It is recommended to use in a ventilated area or a spray booth.
When used in the recommended thin layer, it does not clog high-quality sanding abrasives.
If kept in a cool, dry environment, the product has a very long shelf life. Avoid exposure to high humidity.
Check the surface for moisture. Ensure the area is completely dry before application.
Apply a slightly thicker layer or ensure the background surface is contrasted enough. Alternatively, check if the applicator pad is saturated and needs cleaning.
Setup: Ensure the surface is free of major debris and is completely dry before application. Lightly rub the applicator over the surface to create a thin, consistent layer of powder.
Compatibility: This product is ideal for use on automotive body fillers, primers, and existing paint layers. It does not interfere with the adhesion of subsequent coatings provided it is sanded away during the process.
Care: Store the container in a cool, dry place with the lid tightly sealed to prevent humidity from affecting the powder consistency. Keep the applicator pad clean by occasionally blowing it off with compressed air to maintain optimal transfer rates.
