FAQs

What are the dimensions of the scoop and rake?

The rake has a length of 38.5cm and a width of 40cm. Specific dimensions for the scoop are not provided but it is described as 'big' and 'wide-mouthed'.

Is this set suitable for heavy garden waste like rocks?

The set is designed for lighter debris such as leaves and stable waste. While durable, it may not withstand repeated use with heavy materials like rocks or dense soil.

Can I use this indoors?

Yes, the set is suitable for indoor applications, such as collecting pet waste or debris within a garage or workshop.

How do I clean the Red Gorilla Big Tidee and Rake?

Clean both the scoop and rake with water after use. Wipe them dry to prevent rust and store in a dry location.

What material is the set made from?

The set is crafted from high-quality, sturdy materials designed for durability. The rake is specifically mentioned as metal.

Is the handle length adjustable?

No, the handles have a fixed length.

What is the primary benefit of the wide-mouthed scoop?

The wide-mouthed design allows for the collection of a larger volume of waste in a single pass, significantly increasing efficiency during clean-up tasks.

Troubleshooting

Scoop feels flimsy after a short period.

Ensure the scoop is not being used for materials heavier or sharper than intended. Clean thoroughly after use and store properly to prevent degradation of materials.

Rake tines are bent or damaged.

Avoid using the rake to pry or dig forcefully. If tines are bent, gently try to straighten them. For severe damage, replacement might be necessary, though it is designed for durability.

Comfort grip is slipping.

Ensure the handle is clean and dry. If the grip material is worn, consider adding grip tape for enhanced security, though this is uncommon with proper care.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Efficiently collects large amounts of waste with the wide-mouthed scoop.

  • Lightweight design makes it easy to handle and maneuver, minimizing physical exertion.
  • Durable construction ensures long-term reliability and resistance to wear and tear.
  • Versatile for use in various environments, including gardens and stables.

Cons

  • The fixed handle length might not be ideal for all user heights, potentially requiring more bending for very tall individuals.
  • The rake is described as 'short', which may limit its reach for certain tasks or users.
  • Material might be less suitable for extremely sharp or abrasive materials compared to heavy-duty metal alternatives.
