Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setting up your Chelsea Planters is straightforward. Simply ensure you place them on a flat, stable surface to prevent tipping. While they come with built-in drainage, consider adding a small layer of horticultural grit or expanded clay pellets at the base of the pot before adding soil to further improve airflow and prevent the drainage holes from becoming blocked by dense potting media.
To clean your planters, simply wipe them down with a damp cloth or rinse them with a light spray from a garden hose. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive scrub brushes, as these may damage the dark grey finish. During particularly harsh winters, while the material is frost-resistant, keeping the planters slightly elevated off the ground using 'pot feet' can help ensure optimal drainage and prevent the base from sitting in frozen standing water.
