FAQs

What is the weight capacity of the Helinox Sunset Chair?

The chair has a weight capacity of 145 kg (320 lb).

How much does the chair weigh when packed?

The packed weight of the chair is 1.656 kg (3.7 lb).

What are the dimensions of the chair when packed?

When packed, the dimensions are approximately 47.5 cm (18.5 in) in length, 15 cm (6 in) in width, and 11 cm (4.5 in) in height.

Can the fabric seat be machine washed?

It is recommended to spot clean the fabric with mild soap and water. Machine washing is generally not advised as it can damage the specialized materials and coatings.

What makes this chair different from the original Sunset Chair?

The redesigned 're' version adds a second tension line within the seat perimeter for enhanced weight distribution and comfort, longer leg poles for easier use, and updated resin hubs for improved stability.

Are replacement parts available for the frame or fabric?

Helinox typically offers replacement parts, including poles and carry cases. It is best to check the official Helinox website or contact customer support for specific availability.

Is the chair suitable for use on soft ground like sand?

While the chair is stable, using it on very soft ground like sand may cause the legs to sink slightly. Consider using a small mat or ground protector under the legs if needed.

Troubleshooting

Chair wobbles or feels unstable

Ensure all poles are fully inserted into the hubs and that the fabric corners are securely seated in the molded pockets. Verify the chair is on a level surface.

Difficulty inserting poles into hubs

Check for any debris or obstruction within the hub. Ensure the pole end is aligned correctly before applying gentle pressure. The shock-cord design should assist with alignment.

Fabric seems too tight during setup

This is normal as the tension is required for stability. Ensure all poles are correctly seated. If significant force is needed, re-check pole connections.

Frame poles do not stay connected

Verify that the internal shock cord is intact and providing sufficient tension. If the cord is damaged, it may require replacement.

  • Accessories like a ground sheet or footprint are not officially listed but could be used to protect the seat fabric on rough terrain if desired.

Care:

  • Seat Fabric: Spot clean with mild soap and water. Avoid harsh detergents or abrasive cleaners. Allow to air dry completely.
