Setup, Compatibility & Care
Before application, ensure the wood surface is sanded thoroughly and free of dust, oils, or waxes. Use a tack cloth to remove remaining debris, as any dust will negatively affect the final finish. Always perform a patch test on an inconspicuous area or a scrap piece of the same wood species to verify the color result, as different woods absorb dye differently.
Because this is a spirit-based dye, it is compatible with most standard topcoats, such as shellacs, lacquers, and polyurethanes, once fully dried. Wear gloves during application to avoid staining your skin, and ensure you are working in a well-ventilated area due to the solvent content. Store the bottles in a cool, dry place away from direct heat sources and ensure the caps are tightened securely to prevent evaporation.
