Yes, for the best adhesion of your base coat, ensure the surface is clean, smooth, and lightly sanded if necessary.
You will need a solid base coat to cover the surface, followed by a separate top coat specifically for the graining process.
No, it is best to hand wash the tools with warm, soapy water to preserve the integrity of the rubber.
Absolutely; the tools are perfect for wood-graining furniture, though smaller tools in the set may be better suited for intricate areas.
The top coat may be too thin or you are moving the tool too quickly. Apply a slightly thicker layer of paint and slow down your dragging motion.
Work in smaller sections or add a paint extender to your top coat to increase the open time of the paint.
Ensure the rubber surface is clean and free of oil. Also, check that you are applying sufficient pressure to create the imprint.
Setting up the tools is straightforward: simply select the tool size that matches the width of the area you are working on. The QWORK set is compatible with most standard interior latex and acrylic paints.
Care instructions are minimal: immediately after finishing your project, rinse the rubber tools thoroughly with warm soapy water to remove any residual paint. Avoid using harsh solvents that may degrade the rubber material. Once clean, allow the tools to air dry completely before storing them in a cool, dry place to maintain the elasticity of the rubber.
