FAQs

What does RCBO stand for?

Residual Current Circuit Breaker with Overcurrent protection.

What is the purpose of a 30mA RCBO?

To protect against electric shock by detecting earth leakage currents as low as 30mA.

Where should I install an RCBO?

In your consumer unit, protecting individual circuits where enhanced safety is needed.

Can I install an RCBO myself?

Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.

How often should I test the RCBO?

At least every six months, by pressing the test button.

What is the breaking capacity of this RCBO?

6kA.

What type of RCD is this?

Type A.

What is the benefit of double pole switching?

It completely disconnects both live and neutral conductors for increased safety.

Troubleshooting

RCBO trips frequently.

Check for earth leakage in the connected circuit. Inspect appliances and wiring for faults. Reduce the load on the circuit.

RCBO fails to trip when the test button is pressed.

Replace the RCBO. This indicates a potential internal fault.

RCBO does not switch on.

Check the circuit breaker supplying the RCBO, and ensure the RCBO is wired correctly. If the problem persists, replace the RCBO.
