FAQs

Is this combo suitable for beginners?

Yes, it is specifically designed to be an easy-to-use, complete setup for those starting out or looking for a convenient travel option.

Can I replace the monofilament line?

Absolutely. You can strip the pre-loaded line and replace it with your preferred monofilament or braided line if desired.

Does the reel feature an anti-reverse switch?

Most modern 2000 FD reels in this category include an anti-reverse feature to prevent back-play.

What is the total weight of the outfit?

The total weight of the rod and reel setup is approximately 360g.

Can I use this for float fishing?

While intended for feeder fishing, the rod can be used for light float fishing if you prefer, provided you stay within the casting weight limits.

Troubleshooting

Line tangling near the reel

Ensure the line is not overfilled on the spool and that the tension is maintained during the retrieve.

Difficulty casting distance

Check that the feeder weight does not exceed the 30g rod limit and ensure the rod loading motion is smooth rather than jerky.

Stiff reel handle

Apply a small amount of fishing reel lubricant to the handle assembly and check for any debris inside the gear housing.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To set up your combo, simply join the two rod sections securely and mount the reel into the reel seat. Ensure the line is threaded through the guides from the tip down to the reel.

Care Tips

Rinse after use: Especially after fishing in saltwater or muddy conditions, wipe down the rod guides and reel body with a damp cloth.
Storage: Use a rod sleeve when transporting to protect the guides, and store the combo in a cool, dry place.
Maintenance: Periodically check the drag setting on your reel and ensure the line remains free of frays or kinks before each session.
