Setup, Compatibility & Care
- Power Off: Always disconnect the Filtral 5000 from the power supply before performing maintenance.
- Accessing the Filter: Unlatch the outer casing of the Filtral unit to expose the internal filter chambers.
- Removal: Remove the old, used media and dispose of it responsibly.
- Rinsing: Rinse the new foam pads in a bucket of dechlorinated or pond water (never use chlorinated tap water, as it kills beneficial bacteria) to remove any manufacturing dust.
- Installation: Layer the pebbles, bio-media, and foams according to the original configuration of your unit.
- Testing: Once reassembled and submerged, turn the power back on and check for steady flow from the outlet.
Regular care involves checking the foam pads every few weeks for excessive sludge buildup, gently rinsing them if necessary, and performing a full replacement using this kit when the material no longer expands after cleaning.
